!! CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF GOOD HEALTH !!
The Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT)
celebrates its Golden Anniversary during
International Alexander Awareness Week 2008
The 4th-12th October is International Alexander Awareness Week, which also sees the 50th Anniversary of the creation of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique. With up to 80% of the population suffering from back pain at some state of their life, at a cost of more than £1 billion annually to the NHS, the Alexander Technique Awareness Week will be highlighting recent clinical research, published in the British Medical Journal, which proves that the Alexander Technique provides long-term benefit for chronic back pain sufferers.
The Alexander Technique addresses all aspects of musculoskeletal health. It is a teacher-led, hands-on discipline that works by helping you use your body more efficiently and effectively, thereby avoiding strains and aches through over-use or misuse.
Not only beneficial in the treatment and prevention of back and other musculoskeletal pain, the Alexander Technique also offers benefits for posture, performance, stress relief and RSI. The Alexander Technique also helps sports people (whether keen amateurs, or skilled professionals) to improve their performance and recover more rapidly afterwards.
