What's New . . . .

! HAPPY NEW YEAR !
With the turning of the page to a brand new year, it is time to leave all the negativity of 2011 behind us and make new plans and resolutions for 2012! If you are planning to stop smoking or lose weight, which are common promises we make to ourselves at the beginning of the year, you would do well to contact Sue Kemp our hypnotherapist. Sue has been with the Courtyard since the beginning and has been extremely successful with one session 'stop smoking' treatments and more recently with the hypnoband sessions. This tells your subconscious that you have had a gastric band fitted, and your body reacts accordingly! For more information on these treatments, get in touch with us at the Courtyard and Sue will be happy to explain further!

If you suffer from either SAD or winter blues symptoms you will probably start to notice the difference around September and may not feel like your normal self until April. The main symptoms are listed below; you may not experience all of them, particularly with milder winter blues:
- Sleep problems - oversleeping but not refreshed, cannot get out of bed, needing a nap in the afternoon
- Overeating - carbohydrate craving leading to weight gain
- Depression, despair, misery, guilt, anxiety - normal tasks become frustratingly difficult
- Family / social problems - avoiding company, irritability, loss of libido, feeling emotionally 'numb'
- Lethargy - too tired to cope, everything an effort
- Physical symptoms - often joint pain or stomach problems, lowered resistance to infection
- Behavioural problems - especially in young people
South West Mediation are currently running their practice using the therapy centre as a base and Jane Churchill is building nicely. We also welcome Catherine Barber to the Centre and Catherine has hit the ground running, bringing Chiropractic Care to the Courtyard on a Tuesday and Friday. Catherine incorporates massage in her practice, and has a custom made couch to suit pregnant women in all stages of pregnancy to offer a back, neck and shoulder massage which is proving welcome relief for mums to be in the area!
We are fortunate to have highly qualified and experienced therapists working at the Courtyard and are proud of our reputation. We have a professionally qualified team, who are happy to talk to you at any time free of charge to determine how best we can help.
The Courtyard moves into it's 11th year in Wells and is evolving all the time embracing new ideas and working on the practitioners' continuing professional development within their therapies.
COME AND JOIN US!!
We are actively seeking a professional therapist preferably with an established client base, to join our team in our main treatment room on a Wednesday afternoon/evening, or within our delightful smaller treatment room, (which does not accommodate a couch) for practitioners wishing to join the Courtyard. We also have availability for a practitioner who would like to use the main room for workshops/teaching at the weekend. Ideally, we are looking for a Bowen Practitiioner or Craniosacral therapist to widen the team, although we would welcome other therapies to the Courtyard, with the exception of massage, reflexology or counselling which are fully covered by the current team.
Our main treatment room is available for hire for teaching/workshops at the weekend at a reasonable rate!
Contact Sandra Abrahams for further details either at the Centre or on 01761 451431.
With best wishes from all the team at the Courtyard!
